It’s been a while since I last posted. How have you been?
Today, I want to share something a bit different—more about my personal experiences and travels, and how they tie into my professional values.
Recently, I visited Daegu in Korea while working there a few months ago, and I’d like to tell you about my day there.
My visit to Daegu was quite spontaneous. I was on a spa trip with my wife and parents-in-law near the city. On our way back, we realized Daegu was close by and decided to make a stop. The main reason for visiting was to see a small watch repair atelier.
Today, I’m thrilled to share an exhilarating journey I embarked upon—my first day in the Executive MBA program at HEC Paris, located in Jouy-en-Josas, a small town near the Versailles castle. This day was more than just about academic rigor; it was a blend of history, strategy, and a remarkable dinner in a setting rich with royal heritage!
The Morning Buzz: Meeting the Cohort
Our day kicked off bright and early at 8:30 AM, establishing the pace for all future in-class days. While most of the program is conducted online, there are a few weeks of onsite sessions every couple of months. These onsite weeks are quite intense, often leading to short nights in-between evening events and early morning classes 😪. Meeting my fellow participants in person was exhilarating. The group formed a vibrant tapestry of professionals from diverse fields such as sales, finance, engineering, and HR, further enriched by a healthy mix of French and international voices.
It’s been a while since my last update here– how’s everyone kicking off the new year? I hope it’s been fantastic for you all. As for me, I rang in 2024 in style with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Millesime 2015.
In today’s post, I’m excited to share what’s been brewing on my end as we step into this fresh year. So, grab your coffee (or maybe some leftover New Year’s champagne), and let’s dive in!
After close to 4 months without a single entry, I thought it was the right time to make a comeback.
Although I haven’t written a lot for this period, it didn’t mean the blog stayed idle, I worked hard during my spare time to bring you, my readers, new thrilling functionalities.
First of all, let start by the most obvious, I join a new audio file for each of my blog entries thanks to the great AWS Text-to-Speech service Amazon Polly. This service makes a wonderful job for reading my posts in a lifelike speech fashion thanks to Matthew’s voice. I didn’t use any advanced SSML tags, but the result is already impressive. Furthermore, this is my first post written in both English and Dutch, the full blog translation is still a work in progress, but you can already see Polly results in both Dutch and English by scrolling down and switching the site default language.
